Google Asks for LBC Feedback!

I’m sure one of my Local Searcharati friends has already seen this but I found it fascinating.  I logged into the LBC today to reflect that I was updating my business from primarily focusing on Web Design to Local SEO (some of you may have noticed a little redesign about 10 days ago).

Google asked me for my feedback!!  Check out the questions (and for the most part, my answers) below.

Nice job, Google.  I found a few of the questions a little intrusive (the mandatory answer about the best ways to get my phone number out there) but in general it was a good survey, easy to complete, and I think you’ll get a lot of useful data from it.

Jen/Joel/Carter, I did see a copyright declaration but I assume this is fair use.  If it is not, please let me know and I will remove the JPEGs and just give excerpts.

I would encourage you all to log in to your Local Business Center accounts and take the survey for yourselves.

  1. Hi David!
There was something a little bit like this maybe half a year ago. Mike posted it on his site, but to my recollection it was nowhere near this thorough. Those are some very direct questions.

Now, I know voting is always supposed to be discrete, but did you really tell Google you were only slightly dissatisfied with the verification process? Were you restraining yourself?

Great to see Google taking this kind of survey. Thanks for posting!

  2. I checked and the survey isn’t in my LBC. Maybe they figure they have enough feedback from me. :)

  3. What Miriam said. I remember a much shorter survey some time ago, but this one’s a lot more detailed.

  4. Good to hear they want the users voice to improve their products.

  5. Haven’t seen it yet. Love the new site design, by the way. Looks great!
